Home School Communication
At Bannockburn we know that feedback is one of the most powerful influences on learning and achievement. We apply this philosophy not only in our daily teaching and learning but also in our relationships with parents and other stakeholders. We are constantly seeking parent feedback in order to help us know what we are doing well and where we can make improvements.
Parent Forums
Each term we hold a Parent Forum where we discuss key themes that parents have identified as areas that would benefit from a focus in our school. The forum takes place on alternate sites (Manor Way or High Street) but parents from both sites are always welcome.
The forums are advertised in our school weekly newsletter, on our website and via our text messaging service. We generally hold the meetings in the evening and we provide a crèche for those parents needing childcare. Parents are welcome to attend any parent forum and if you cannot make the forum we add the minutes to this section of the website for you read and comment on.
Parent Evenings Booking System
We are pleased to let you know that the school has introduced a new intuitive and easy to use online appointment booking system for Parents’ Evenings
This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments. We are confident this will be an improvement to the previous system and welcome any feedback.
Please click on the link below to access the system.

Parent Surveys
Every year we ask parents to complete a Parent Survey so that we know exactly what parent’s feel is going well in our school and where parents feel we need to improve. From the last survey these are some of things parents think we are doing really well:
- Children are happy at Bannockburn and enjoy coming to school everyday
- The school is led and managed well
- The school is helping to prepare children for the future
- The school provides opportunities for children to work as a team
- The school is welcoming and friendly
- The school keeps parents well informed about how their child is getting on
- Communication from the school is timely and useful
Parent Code of Conduct
When your child starts at Bannockburn you will be asked to sign a Parent Code of Conduct. The purpose of this document is to remind visitors, parents and carers about the expected conduct in order for the school to continue to progress and achieve in an atmosphere of mutual understanding.
Families at Bannockburn
Families at Bannockburn (also known as FAB) is a group of Parents & Carers of pupils, who work hand in hand with school to support events and fundraisers such as School Fairs, Cake Sales and other community events.
If you have time available (however little) and would like to be part of FAB, please get in contact. Also, if you have any skills to offer, such as crafts, cooking, financial skills, community links and networking, and feel that these could benefit the school then please feel free to contact us to get involved.
We hold regular meetings, which are advertised in the school Newsletter and on the website and everyone is welcome to attend.
We would love to have you get involved.
Thank you
